Toni Cipriani is a Caporegime for the Leone Family of the Liberty City Mafia. He is Salvatore Leone's right-hand man. Toni lives in Liberty City.

His only living relative is his mother, only known as Momma Cipriani. His mother is from Florence, Italy and his never-seen father is Sicilian-American. Toni Cipriani is voiced by Danny Mastrogiorgio. Toni Cipriani is first introduced in the GTA: III mission, "Cipriani's Chauffeur".

Toni is introduced to the game's protagonist, Claude Speed, by Salvatore Leone's son, Joey Leone. Toni enlists Claude's help in gaining extortion money from a Triads-controlled laundromat. In retaliation, the Triads attack one of the high-profile Leone Family members, starting a mob-war between the Triads and Leone Family. Toni instructs Claude to deliver a truck, armed with a bomb, to destroy a Triad Fish Factory, ending the war.

During GTA: III, Toni lives with his mother and is seen frequently in his family restaurant, Cipriani's Ristorante. His mother constantly berates Toni for not matching up to his father and failing to meet her expectations.

[edit] Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Toni Cipriani appears as the playable character in LCS, and this is his first chronological appearance in the GTA series. Toni has left Liberty City for a few years, after being asked to kill a "made man" by Salvatore Leone. He returns once the heat has died down, and is given work by Don Leone in gratitude. However, due to his absence, other family members have moved up and Salvatore was forced to replace Toni with Vincenzo Cilli.

In order to work his way back up the ranks, Toni is made to work through a number of tasks for Don Leone, including taking down the two main rival families, the Sindaccos and the Forellis. He is also asked to wipe out the Liberty City Yakuza by Toshiko Kasen. His last task is to deal with a caporegime from the Sicilian Mafia, who are trying to take control of Liberty City. By doing this the current mayor of LC, Mayor O'Donnovan is indebted to the Leones, and this allows them to gain control of Liberty City.

[edit] Appearance

Toni's appearance has changed drastically from GTA: LCS to GTA: III. In Liberty City Stories, Toni is shown to be thin and healthy. His mother, among others, nags Toni for being thin and underfed throughout the game. In GTA: III, Toni is overweight and has aged dramatically. This may be because of the complaints from his mother, or simply because he is Salvatore's caporegime, and no longer needs to do much work.

Toni can be heard phoning in to Chatterbox FM, in GTA: III, to complain about his mother and her lack of faith in him.
