The Swat appears in every Grand Theft Auto game as a form of law enforcement resistance, usually when the player reaches 4 stars.

[edit] Grand Theft Auto III
The SWAT joins in the chase to kill Claude. They use enforcers to try and block the road and impede Claude from continuing.
[edit] Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
SWAT helicopters chase Tommy and they come down the helicopters with powerful guns.
[edit] Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Two helicopters chase Carl and, like Vice City, come down the helicopters with powerful guns. If in an aircraft, they shoot missiles and Hydras chase Carl.

They simply try to attack Toni and blockade the road with enforcers.

The SWAT members go down helicopters. They also have powerful guns and join in at roadblocks to try and destroy Vic's car.
