Los Santos is a city in San Andreas based off of real-life Los Angeles County. It has many of Los Angeles' landmarks, including the Walk of Fame, Hollywood sign, and Inglewood. Los Santos is the hometown of Carl "CJ" Johnson, the game's anti-hero. CJ returns home from Liberty City after 5 years to learn of his mother's death.

Los Santos is the largest city in San Andreas. One part is home to many gangs, the other compromised of high-retail shops. The southern part features Los Santos International Airport, which is based on LAX. The game manual for Liberty City Stories describes Los Santos as "The city where you are most likely to be eaten by a wild animal".
