Mods are various ways by computer programmers to add additional content to games, usually without the permission of the developer. Various mods have been made, such as to make the Grand Theft Auto III era games less inappropriate for younger children, or based the mods on TV shows or movies, like the bomb bus from Speed or the De Lorean from the Back to the Future Trilogy.

This mod is only available for the computer. adds the ability to go online to battle others in San Andreas, Vice City or Liberty City. It is similar to the Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer, but the players have the extra ability to type messages to other players while playing the game.

Various of the Myths heard in San Andreas can become true when the player downloads mods for the PC of Leatherface, Bigfoot (who also has a mission) Ghost Cars and others.
