Grand Theft Auto IV era

The Grand Theft Auto IV era is a series of games that stands out in terms of graphics and gameplay, to the other Grand Theft Auto games. As of December 2008, there is two games and two downloadable games (also available on disc) in the series, all of the games set in Liberty City.

Grand Theft Auto IV was released on the 29 April 2008 worldwide on the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms and November 18 for the computer version. The game features a significant improvement on graphics from the previous Grand Theft Auto games, such as those from the Grand Theft Auto III era. The game features Niko Bellic and a redeveloped Liberty City in the year 2008. The game introduced several features, like the mobile phone. The mobile phone had also been in previous games, such as Vice City, San Andreas and Liberty City Stories, but only for ringing people. Another feature introduced is online multiplayer, with several game types to play. The story revolves around Niko Bellic, who had arrived in Liberty City from Europe to search for the American Dream. He was convinced by his cousin Roman Bellic that he (Roman) was rich and owned a mansion. After Niko's arrival, it was revealed that Roman was lying. He was a taxi cab owner. Niko finds work in Liberty City, throwing him into crime and gangs.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars features Huang Lee in Liberty City during the current year. The game will be set the Grand Theft Auto IV variation of Liberty City, minus Alderney. The game makes use of the Wi-Fi, for the Rockstar Games Social Club and the PSP version can be used for trading objects with friends.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City consists of two games, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. It is an Xbox 360 exclusive and features the stories of Johnny Klebitz and Luis Lopez. Johnny is a biker with ideals on how to lead his biker gang The Lost while Luis works as the bodyguard for Tony Prince.
