Downtown (Vice City)

Downtown is an area of Vice City which is located at the top left hand corner of the map, north of Little Haiti and west to the Prawn Island, and is home to some of the tallest buildings in the city. There is an Ammunation gun shop that players can use to upgrade their arsenal of weapons, as well as the Hyman Memorial Stadium, which hosts a number of races. There is also a Dirt Track in the area.

Hyman Memorial Stadium appears in both Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. It is used for car races and demolition derbies. In Vice City Stories, Phil Collins sings here.

[edit] Vice City Fire Dept. HQ

The fire station serving the Downtown district of Vice City. It has a fire truck and in Vice City Stories a Fire Helicopter appears at the back of the station to start a side-mission.

[edit] Tall Buildings

There are several tall buildings, but only a few are accessible, such as Hyman Condo, V-Rock station (to start missions), an office block (used in G-Spotlight and can be used later), and the VCN building, where an Easter egg in both PS2 versions of Vice City can be seen, a helicopter and a hidden package in the first Vice City.

[edit] Vice City Downtown Hospital

This is where Tommy Vercetti or Vic Vance start off after getting killed. It's also where Vic can bribe hospital doctors to give back confiscated weapons.

[edit] Vice City Downtown Police Station

This building is where Tommy and Vic start off after getting busted by a police officer. It's across the road from the Fire Station. Vic can bribe the police officers into returning his weapons that were confiscated.
