The chainsaw is a weapon relatively well hidden and only avaliable in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It it still classed as a melee weapon, so it will be lost if the player runs over another melee weapon in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas(eg. Police baton).It will stay in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
[edit] Vice City Easter Egg
In Vice City, a chainsaw can be found as an easter egg near a Pay 'N Spray in an apartment room. It's located in the bathroom with blood in it, a reference to Scarface. The room can be seen on the right.
